Congress alone has won 99 Lok Sabha seats. In this situation, Vishal Patil, who contested as an independent in Maharashtra, has expressed his support to the Congress. With this Congress has touched 3 digits.
The Congress won 99 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. Now the strength of the Congress party has increased to 100 as an independent MP has supported the Congress party.
Vishal Patil, who quit the Congress party, will contest as an independent from the Sangli Lok Sabha constituency in Maharashtra. Son of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Vasantada Patil, he contested as an independent after he was denied a seat. The Congress allotted this constituency to the Shiv Sena (Uddav) party which is part of the Maha Vikas Akadi alliance.
Due to this, Vishal Patil, who came out as an independent in discontent, gave a shock to the Congress. Vishal Patil contested as an independent and got 5,71,666 votes. BJP came second. BJP candidate Sanjay Patil lost by a margin of 1,00,053-votes.
It is in this situation that Vishal Patil has given support to the Congress party today. With this, the strength of the Congress party in the Lok Sabha has increased to 100. Mallikarjuna Kharge posted on his X site:- “Welcome to Vishal Patil who has been selected as MP”.
The Lok Sabha elections were held in 7 phases from April 19 to June 1. The votes cast were counted the day before yesterday and the results announced. No party has a majority in the 543-member Lok Sabha. BJP won 240 seats and became the single largest party.
The National Democratic Alliance won 292 seats. The National Democratic Alliance has the required number of 272 seats to form the government. Telugu Desam and United Janata Dal gave written support to BJP. As a result, the formation of a BJP coalition government at the center is certain. Modi will be sworn in for the 3rd term on Sunday evening.
It seems that Modi will meet the President and claim the right to form the government soon. It was said that India would try to form a coalition government as the BJP did not get a majority at the centre. But it is said that the India alliance is getting ready to sit on the opposition line.
Earlier yesterday, Mallikarjuna Kharge, speaking at the consultative meeting of India’s alliance parties, said that the people have voted against the anti-democratic actions of the BJP government. The India Alliance will continue to fight for the election promises it made. We will try to remove the BJP government when the time comes according to the sentiments of the people. This is what he said.
The All India Alliance currently has 234 MPs in the Lok Sabha. Party-wise, the Congress party has 99 MPs. Samajwadi Party has 37 MPs, AITC has 29 MPs and DMK has 22 MPs. In this situation, it is the Congress party that has now got the support of one more MP. The number of Congress MPs has increased to 100 as Vishal Patil, who contested as an independent, extended his support to the Congress party.
