The fans gave a rousing welcome to the Indian team at the Delhi airport as they returned home with the T20 World Cup.
India beat South Africa by 7 runs in the T20 World Cup final to win the trophy.
While the Indian team was about to return home from Barbados, the trip was delayed due to storm ‘Beryl’ that formed in the Atlantic Ocean.
After the storm made landfall, the Indian team left for home in a special flight from Barbados. The flight reached Delhi this morning. At that time, a large number of fans gathered at the airport and gave an enthusiastic welcome.
Following this, the Indian players, who visited the ITC Maurya Hotel, danced enthusiastically with the World Cup.
Around 11 am, the Indian team players will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence.
Following this, the Mumbai-bound Indian team will take a procession from Nariman Point to Marine Drive in an open-air bus with the trophy. Later, a felicitation program will be held for them at the Wankhede Stadium in the evening.
