Nitish’s party had conducted a caste-wise survey in Bihar. However, the BJP has been opposing it all this time. However, after the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP’s position has slowly started to change on many issues. Accordingly, the Bihar BJP has said that they are not against the issue of caste-wise enumeration. It is seen as important in national politics.
In Bihar, Nitish Kumar conducted a caste-wise census when he was in the Congress-RJD alliance. However, the BJP strongly opposed it at the time.
But now, after the Lok Sabha elections, the support of JDU is needed to continue ruling at the centre. Thus, the BJP has changed its stand on the issue of caste-wise enumeration.
Change in stance: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has made some key comments on the issue. Stating that the Congress and All India parties are against reservation, Samrat Chaudhary said that the BJP has been supporting the conduct of caste-wise census in Bihar. He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take appropriate decision regarding the caste-wise census.
Speaking to reporters in Gwalior in this regard, he said, “BJP has been supporting the conduct of caste-wise census in Bihar. We are not against it. Home Minister Amit Shah has clarified in this regard. BJP is not against caste-wise census.
A decision on this matter will be taken in due course. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take the right decision in this regard,” he said.
Congress is the enemy: NEET question paper leaked early.. Congress’s Rahul Gandhi is criticizing about seat reservation. Responding to a related question, Chaudhry said, “Rahul, who is talking all this, doesn’t know what to say. Rahul’s father (the late Prime Minister) Rajiv Gandhi opposed the implementation of the Mandal Commission which insisted on reservation. When BR Ambedkar gave reservation to Dalits and tribals in 1952, Jawaharlal Nehru opposed it.
Congress party is also right. Other parties in the India Alliance are also against quota. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee has always supported reservation for Dalits and tribals. Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L.K. Advani also supported the Mandal Commission,” he said.
Prime Minister Modi: Acknowledging that despite reservation for all sections of the society, poverty remains a concern and said that Prime Minister Modi is continuously working to resolve the issue.
Nitish-Congress-RJD coalition was running the government in Bihar until the beginning of this year. This Chaudhary of the BJP, who was then the leader of the opposition, tied the turban saying that he would remove his turban only after removing Nitish Kumar from the post of Chief Minister.
Turban: But now that the BJP has formed an alliance with Nitish, Chowdhury has been sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Chowdhury said that he will take off his turban on July 2 at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
