The Madras High Court has issued an important order regarding the Group 4 examination conducted to fill 6,244 vacant posts in Tamil Nadu. TNPSC has ordered to publish final answer sheet and copy of OMR sheet for Group 4 exam before recruitment notification.
Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission announced the notification for Group 4 exam last January. More than 20 lakh people applied for 6244 vacancies across Tamil Nadu. Out of which 15.8 lakh candidates wrote this exam recently.
This year the exam was tougher than ever. This year some new questions were asked in grammar regarding Tamil. More questions were asked on grammar and literature. Usually 25 marks of Accounts questions will be asked.
But the examiners said that 27 questions were asked this year. Candidates also said that some questions in general knowledge were very difficult. Overall, the TNPSC candidates are saying that the cut-off is likely to be lower than the last time. In this situation, the Madras High Court has issued an important order regarding the Group 4 exam.
Group 4 candidates including Muthulakshmi and Trichy Muthu Selvam from Palani Mettupatti in Dindigul district had filed a petition in the Madras High Court.
In the petition, “Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has officially released the notification for Combined Group 4 Examination on 30th January last to fill 6,244 vacant posts in Tamil Nadu.
The Group 4 written examination was held on June 9 at various centers across Tamil Nadu. Usually TNPSC releases final answer sheet and copy of OMR sheet for TNPSC Group 4 Exam only after completion of recruitment process. But this time TNPSC should release final answer sheet and copy of OMR paper for Group 4 exam before recruitment notification.
Because candidates are affected when TNPSC releases final answer sheet and copy of OMR sheet for Group 4 exam after completion of recruitment process. Therefore, an order should be issued to release the final answer sheet and copy of the OMR paper of the recently conducted TNPSC Group 4 examination before publication of the appointment list,” the petition said.
The petition came up for hearing before Justice Manjula of the Maduraik High Court. Judge Manjula, who heard this petition, ordered that the final answer sheet and copy of the OMR sheet of the recently conducted TNPSC Group 4 examination should be released before the publication of the appointment list.
Through this, the candidates have got an opportunity to view the final answer sheet and OMR paper copy of the Group 4 exam before the appointment. Through this, the candidates have got an opportunity to know their marks and mistakes. It is also said that candidates can appeal if any mistake has been made.
