It has been reported that the company is planning to bring a new rule that those who want to get the live stream facility on the X site will have to pay a fee. Check out a news package on this.
Elon Musk, one of the richest people in the world, bought Twitter in October 2022 for Rs 3.30 lakh crore. Ever since he got his hands on Twitter, he has been making a lot of changes to it. He first changed the site’s name to X and changed the “X” logo from Twitter’s iconic blue bird to a new one.
In this case, last year, he announced a shocking announcement to the users who newly join the X site. Accordingly, Elon Musk said that new users joining the X platform will have to pay an annual fee. He also explained that this new initiative will permanently block fake accounts on the X site.
According to Elon Musk’s announcement, from now on, users who join the X site to post their opinions and chat with others will be charged a minimal fee.
It is worth noting that this tariff was already introduced to new users in New Zealand and the Philippines last October as part of the Not a Bot” program. In those countries the fee is set at US$1 per year.
However, last Friday, Elon Musk made a new announcement, advising users to have a premium subscription to start a live stream. This new update has arrived on the X platform shortly after the X platform made the options available to all users on the individual platform.
On the payment page of the live stream, there is no information on when the payment will be made, but it says it will be implemented “soon”.
Site X confirmed the news and made an announcement on its official ‘@live’ page. The announcement states that, starting soon, only Premium subscribers will be able to create live videos called LiveStream on X, and that users will need to switch their accounts to X Premium to continue creating live videos.
On the X site, the premium subscription will start at Rs 215 per month, while the X Premium Plus subscription will be priced at Rs 1,133.
According to reports, Elon Musk has taken this decision to generate revenue through premium subscriptions as ad revenue from companies owned by Elon Musk, including the X platform, is insufficient.
