Powers of the Leader of the Opposition: The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha has the same status as a Cabinet Minister. The Leader of the Opposition will also be a member of the major committees formed in the Parliament. That is, the Leader of the Opposition will be a member of the Public Accounts, Public Sector Undertakings and various Parliamentary Joint Committees.
