Andhra Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced that a new dam will be constructed at Palar. He toured Kuppam constituency and said it is my responsibility to provide water to the town. He said that a new barrage will be constructed at Madhavappalli and Yadavappalli across the river. This has shocked the farmers of Tamil Nadu.
Along with the Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh, the state assembly elections were also held. Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party won 135 seats out of a total of 175 constituencies. Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena, which was in alliance with the Telugu Desam Party, won 21 seats and the BJP won 8 seats.
Chandrababu Naidu speech: The Jagan Mohan Reddy party, which was the ruling party, suffered a major defeat. The party did not even get opposition status. Chandrababu Naidu has been taking various action steps since taking charge as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Chandrababu Naidu, who is touring the entire state, is also addressing the people.
In this situation, Chandrababu Naidu spoke in his own constituency Kuppam area. Then Chandrababu Naidu said:- Thank you for choosing me for the 8th time. In return for electing me, I am going to do various welfare programs for the development of this constituency.
A new barrage will be built: I will make Andhra Pradesh a cannabis-free state. I will create job opportunity for educated youth. A new barrage will be constructed across the river at Madhavappalli and Yadavappalli. It is my responsibility to provide water to the town. It is your responsibility to turn it into gold.”
The farmers of Tamil Nadu are shocked because the construction of a barrage across the river will cause great damage to Tamil Nadu. In 2005, during the Jayalalithaa regime, Chandrababu Naidu tried to build a barrage across the river. Jayalalitha approached the Supreme Court and obtained an injunction.
More than 20 barrages: While the case is pending in the Supreme Court, Chandrababu Naidu’s announcement that a barrage will be built across the river has created a sensation. More than 20 small barrages have already been constructed in Bala. The Andhra State Government has also constructed barrages in the branch river of Bala.
Earlier, during the last Jagan Mohan Reddy regime, the Andhra Pradesh government had announced a fund allocation of Rs 215 crore for the construction of a barrage across the river. The Tamil Nadu government strongly protested the Andhra government’s move as an act of contempt for the Supreme Court. It is in such an environment that the Balaru issue has again become a talking point.
Balaru originates from Nandimalai: Balaru originates from Nandimalai in Karnataka and flows 222 km in Tamil Nadu to flow into the Bay of Bengal near Vayalur. The river travels for 90 km in Karnataka and 45 km in Andhra state. 127 km in combined Vellore district alone. Ball goes to meter distance.
Due to the dams built by Andhra Pradesh in Bala, Tamil Nadu is not getting the water it needs. Due to this, the farmers who depend on the salt water are very disappointed. In this context, there is a possibility of opposition from Tamil Nadu when Andhra Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that a new barrage will be built across the river.
