One side keeps saying that the incidents of forced conversions are increasing in our country. Meanwhile, in the conversion case, the Allahabad High Court said that if we allow conversion events to continue, the majority of the country will one day become a minority. The court also said that such events should be banned.
India is a secular country. Here people have the right to practice all religions. Also, the law also gives one the right to propagate one’s religion.
They will be converted into minorities: But one side claims that misled and misguided conversions of poor people are becoming a regular story. Meanwhile, the Allahabad High Court has given some important comments on religious conversions. The court also said that if the incidents of religious conversions continue in the country, the majority of the country will one day become a minority.
A man has been arrested for allegedly forcibly converting Hindus from a village in Uttar Pradesh to Christianity. He had filed a bail plea in the Allahabad High Court. Allahabad High Court Judge Rohit Ranjan Aggarwal made these comments while dismissing the bail plea.
Laws needed: In this regard, the judge further said, “If this trend is allowed, the majority of the people of this country will one day be a minority…and conversion meetings should be stopped immediately.” Also, the Allahabad High Court has ordered an immediate ban on religious conversion meetings. The court also said that such activities are against the freedom of religion enshrined in Article 25 of the Constitution.
During the hearing of the case, the judge further said, “The law permits the propagation of a religion…but,
Propaganda is only for promoting religion..not to convert any person from his religion to other religion..cases of poor people being misled and converted to christianity have come to our notice in various parts of Uttar Pradesh. This is a very serious matter,” the judge said, dismissing the bail plea.
What the case was: A person from a village in Uttar Pradesh filed a complaint against Kailash. Kailash brought his mentally challenged brother to Delhi for treatment and complained that he had converted and converted many people in their village. The complaint is that he is converting innocent people by promising to convert them.
While Kailash was arrested in this case, he had filed a bail petition. It is in this related case that the Allahabad court has opined that religious conversion events should be banned.
