BJP won in 36 constituencies. NPEP won 5 seats, NCP 3 seats, PBA 2 seats, Congress 1 seat and Independents 3 seats. The strength of BJP MLAs increased to 46 as it had already won 10 constituencies unopposed.
A meeting of BJP MLAs was held yesterday. Ravi Shankar Prasad and Tarun Sukh participated in this meeting as senior officials. Pema Kandu was unanimously elected unopposed in the meeting as the President of the Assembly Committee of MLAs of the BJP. This confirmed his re-election as Chief Minister. After that Bema Kandu met the governor and claimed the right to form the government.
Bema Kandu has been the Chief Minister since 2016. He has already served as Chief Minister for 2 times and today he took office for the 3rd time. Governor KT Barnaik administered the oath of office and secrecy. The swearing-in ceremony was held today at 11 am. Deputy Chief Minister and Ministers were also sworn in along with Bema Khand. Bema Kandu, who is set to return as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, hails from a family with a political background. His father Dorji Kandu was the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. He sadly passed away in a helicopter crash in 2011. After that Bema Kandu started to rise in Arunachal Pradesh politics. He first worked in the Congress and PBA parties. After that he joined BJP.
Bema Kandu became the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh for the first time in 2016. He was then in the Congress party. After that he joined Arunachal Pradesh People’s Party (PBA). After that he shifted to BJP. Bema Khandu became the Chief Minister again after the BJP won the 2019 assembly elections. It is noteworthy that he has won the 2024 assembly election and has become the Chief Minister for the 3rd time.
