Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi said that it was a proud moment to get the opportunity to lead the Indian Army.
Upendra Dwivedi has been elected as the new Chief of Army Staff of India. He was sworn in as the new commander in a ceremony held in Delhi.
Following this, he also accepted the military parade held there. Upendra Dwivedi fell at his brother’s feet and received his blessings as he was installed as the new army chief.
Following this, Army Commander Upendra Dwivedi paid his respects by placing a wreath at the National War Memorial.
Speaking later in the program, he mentioned that it was a very proud moment for him to have the opportunity to lead the Indian Army.
Stating that the Indian Army is based on sacrifice and contributions, he said that he paid tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the war.
The Chief of Army Staff mentioned that it is very important to continue to provide modern weapons and technology to our soldiers and he said that the Army will procure locally made equipment.
