The players of the Indian cricket team who won the T20 World Cup today met Prime Minister Modi and congratulated him. 125 crore prize money will be awarded to Indian team players this evening.
The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team defeated South Africa by 7 runs to win the T20 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies. As the match was over and the Indian team was trying to leave the West Indies, the storm approached the West Indies. Hence the flight service was suspended. Due to this, the return of the Indian team players was delayed.
After crossing the shores of the storm, the private flight organized by the BCCI for the Indian team (Air India Champions 24 World Cup) arrived at Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados from Jersey City, USA. In this case, yesterday afternoon at 2 pm Indian time, the Indian team members and their families, coaches, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, President Roger Binny and other executives and Indian journalists left Barbados by plane.
The flight reached Delhi this morning after a journey of about 16 hours. In this case, the cricket team met and congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence. A related video has surfaced on social media. After this, the players coming to Mumbai will participate in the appreciation ceremony organized by BCCI at the Wankhede Stadium.
Players travel by bus from Mumbai Airport to Wankhede Stadium to participate in this function. 125 crore prize money is awarded to the Indian players who won the World Cup in this function.
