The DMK has won the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu and Saravanan, who did not get a chance to contest in the elections, left the party and joined the BJP.
Saravanan was declared the candidate on the same day as the merger. Saravanan was said to have been allotted the seat as some Tamil Nadu BJP executives believed that he would have a chance of victory if he contested anyway, but the election results did not turn out as expected and Saravanan embraced defeat at the hands of the DMK candidate.
In this context, the case against Saravanan for using outdated medical equipment for heart surgery was filed during the last regime, and in the context of the case, Saravanan is said to have considered that the DMK may have intimidated Saravanan by citing the case and that he would not get proper recognition in the BJP.
Saravanan, who joined the BJP, has not been seen since, except to campaign during the election, and is said to be in a state of utter silence after the election defeat, meeting with some of the key leaders close to him in the DMK and reportedly in talks to return to the Thai League.
The news that Saravanan may rejoin the DMK is now the talk of the Madurai area, just as Mukul Roy, who joined the BJP in West Bengal, met Mamata Banerjee again and joined the Trinamool Congress.
