A female employee has been arrested in connection with the murder of a corona patient at the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital in Chennai.
Mauli hails from West Tambaram, Chennai and is a college professor in Andhra Pradesh. His wife Sumita, 41, was diagnosed with coronavirus on the 22nd of last month and was admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. Missing him on May 23rd. Sumita’s body was found in a decomposing condition on the 8th floor of the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital on the 8th.
Surveillance Camera Betrayed: Police interrogated the occupants and examined the footage recorded on the surveillance camera. It was revealed that Ra. Rathi Devi (40) from Tiruvottiyur, who worked as a private security guard in the ward, was the last to take Sumita in a wheelchair. During the investigation, it was revealed that Rathi Devi had strangled Sumita to death.

On the day of the incident, the doctor called Sumita in a wheelchair and took her to the 8th floor by lift and killed her. She then took off the clothes she was wearing to undress the case. Rathi Devi also took Rs 9,500 cash and a mobile phone belonging to Sumita and fled. Following this, the police arrested Rathi Devi on Tuesday.
