Conway of New Zealand has been named the ICC Player of the Year for June.
The ICC has introduced a new award for the best player of the month. The ICC has announced that the award will be given throughout the year to players who have excelled in all categories of international cricket. Fans can vote online to make the award available to their favorite athletes. The ICC Voting Academy, which includes former players, broadcasters and journalists, will also work with fans. The ICC said the awards would be nominated by the ICC Nomination Committee based on the nominees for the award, their performance on the field and their performance in the relevant period.
The awards for the first three months were won by Indian players. Rishabh Bandh was named the best player of January, Aswin the best player of February and Bhuvneshwar Kumar the best fast bowler of March.
The ICC has released a list of nominees for the June Player of the Year award. In the women’s category, two Indian athletes, Shafali Verma and Sneh Rana, and Sophie of England were featured. In the men’s category, New Zealand’s Conway, Jamieson and South Africa’s de Gock were featured.
The ICC has announced that New Zealand’s Conway and England’s Sophie have been named the June Player of the Year.
