Home Minister Amit Shah has contacted Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to inquire about the situation in Himachal Pradesh, which has been badly affected by heavy rains.
He also assured that the Home Ministry would provide all assistance for disaster relief operations.
“I spoke to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur over the phone and inquired about the situation.
The National Disaster Rescue Force will soon be dispatched for rescue operations in Himachal. The Home Ministry is monitoring the situation in Himachal Pradesh.
Heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh have caused floods in various parts of the state. Landslides have occurred in the uneven hills.
Six houses were damaged in a landslide caused by continuous rains in Kangra district. It is feared that more than 10 people are trapped. The State Disaster Rescue Force has been deployed to rescue them.
Also, a number of vehicles were submerged due to floods in the Dharamsala River. Numerous cars and two-wheelers were swept away by the water.
