The Lok Sabha Secretariat has announced that the Waqf Board Amendment Bill will be tabled in Parliament tomorrow.
The Waqf Board Amendment Bill was tabled in the Lok Sabha on August 8 last year. The Opposition parties strongly opposed it, so the Waqf Amendment Bill was sent for the scrutiny of the Parliamentary Joint Committee. The Parliamentary Joint Committee, headed by Jagathambika Paul, accepted the 14 amendments brought in the bill on a vote basis. Following this, the final draft bill was put to a vote in Parliament on the 29th and approved.
The Lok Sabha Secretariat has announced that the Waqf Board Amendment Bill will be tabled tomorrow, as opposition members have strongly criticized the acceptance of the bill in the Parliamentary Joint Committee.
