Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that the BJP has won 635 of the 825 ‘Panchayat Union Leader’ posts in Uttar Pradesh.
In Uttar Pradesh, 349 candidates were fielded unopposed on Friday for the 825 ‘Panchayat Union Leader’ posts. Following this, the election for 476 posts was held on Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm. With that the counting of votes began. In most places the counting of votes was completed, but in some places the counting took place well past midnight.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath told reporters at the state BJP headquarters in Lucknow that the BJP had won 635 seats. He commended the State Gardening Authority for conducting the orchard in a peaceful and dignified manner.
Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and senior BJP leaders congratulated the state BJP on its outstanding performance in ‘This Election’.
In a statement, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav said, “The BJP has forcibly usurped the posts of panchayat union leader with the help of the state administration. This is an insult to the fire of the people. ‘
Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati has accused the BJP of holding democracy hostage in Uttar Pradesh and showing spectacle in the state.
The Congress has accused the ruling BJP state government of unleashing violence in Dotal.
In this context, the state police said that violence, clashes and other untoward incidents have taken place in 17 districts during the riots and the respective district police have been directed to take stern action against those responsible for those incidents.
