Modi, who visited his home constituency Varanasi for the first time after taking office as Prime Minister, released 20,000 crore rupees as the 17th installment under the Farmers’ Financial Assistance Scheme.
9 crore 26 lakh farmers will be benefited by this. Also, Prime Minister Modi has given certificates to 30,000 women who have joined women’s self-help groups under the ‘Farmer Friends’ scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi mentioned that the people of Varanasi elected not only the MP but also the Prime Minister.
Recalling that 31 crore women voted in the Lok Sabha elections, the Prime Minister said that India has the largest number of women voters in the world and this number is almost equal to the population of the United States.
Prime Minister Modi has said that it is rare for the same party to come to power three times in a row in a democratic country and after 60 years in the history of elections, the BJP government has achieved a hat-trick record.
