Let’s look at the reasons why the BJP failed in the Faizabad constituency where the Ayodhya Ram temple is located.
Uttar Pradesh state results in Lok Sabha polls in the country gave a shock to the BJP. Because BJP was confident of winning more than 70 constituencies in this Lok Sabha election while it had won 62 seats in the last Lok Sabha election. But in Uttar Pradesh BJP alliance won 35 seats and India alliance 43 seats.
The BJP’s defeat in the Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency, which includes Ayodhya, has become a talking point. Because the BJP, which celebrated the festival by erecting a grand temple to Balarama in Ayodhya Ramjanmabhoomi, has been defeated in the constituency where the same temple is located. There are various reasons for BJP’s defeat in this constituency.
Lallu Singh, a candidate who has already contested on behalf of the BJP in Faizabad constituencies and won twice, is back in the fray. Similarly, Avdesh Prasad was fielded on behalf of the Samajwadi Party. At the end of the counting of votes, Avadesh Prasad has defeated Lallu Singh by a margin of 54,567 votes. The BJP is confused as to how it failed even after building a temple for Ram in the constituency which it has already won twice.
A large number of houses and shops in Ayodhya were demolished to widen the roads during the construction of the Ram temple. Similarly, it has come to light that BJP candidate Lallu Singh did not care about the affected people and traders. On the other end, Samajwadi Party candidate Avdesh Prasad has taken this issue seriously in the campaign.
Apart from that, BJP candidate Lallu Singh has been criticized for being completely out of touch with the community and has acted arrogantly even during election campaigning. Apart from that, during the last 2 terms as MP, Lallu Singh did not implement any welfare schemes for the people of the constituency. While BJP is ruling in Uttar Pradesh, BJP is ruling at the Centre.
Due to this, the Samajwadi Party has worked with the correct understanding that there will definitely be dissatisfaction with the BJP among the people. Similarly, the Samajwadi Party has been active in gaining the support of Muslims in the Faizabad constituency. BJP’s campaign focused on Ayodhya Ram Temple and hatred towards Muslims. Similarly, the Samajwadi Party’s campaign was based on employment and price increase.
