Uttar Pradesh, India’s largest state, is set to hold assembly elections next year in five states, including Punjab, and parliamentary elections in 2024.
It has been reported that Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar is forming a strong coalition to defeat the BJP in this election.
It was reported that Congress President Sonia Gandhi had consulted with political adviser Prashant Kishore for this. He said he was not talking about forming a third coalition and was speaking out of respect.
Opposition parties have stated they will not run in the by-elections. In the midst of this turmoil, Sharad Pawar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi Yesterday. The meeting, which lasted for an hour, sparked various speculations.
In Maharashtra, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has been at loggerheads with the Shiv Sena-Congress parties over the issue.
“I met the Prime Minister of our country, Hon’ble Narendra Modi. We discussed various issues of national interest. However, political experts say the meeting has “something else meaningful and will be revealed soon.”
