Before the 2019 parliamentary elections, Udhayanidhi effectively conducted the panchayat council meetings in many districts led by the association president M.K.Stalin. In the subsequent parliamentary elections, he campaigned vigorously for DMK and alliance party candidates across Tamil Nadu. Udhayanidhi’s campaign played a significant role in the DMK coalition candidates winning 39 constituencies in that election.
On July 4, 2019, Udayanidhi was appointed as the secretary of the youth team of the club. When he took charge, he decided to do people’s work with the youth team even when the organization was not in power. He announced that the water bodies should be drained across the state. He led a series of protests and demonstrations against the NEET exam along with the student body of the association
In the 2021 assembly elections, he contested in the Chennai Tiruvallikeni-Chepakkam constituency and became an MLA with a huge victory. Udayanidhi Stalin was not given a place in the cabinet headed by the then Prime Minister M.K.Stalin. On 14th December 2022, Udhayanidhi Stalin was appointed in the cabinet of Chief Minister M.K.Stalin. He was allotted youth welfare and sports department. Udayanidhi Stalin has been appointed as Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
The third Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu was Udayanidhi Stalin
For the first time in Tamil Nadu, M. Karunanidhi was the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in 2006-11. In 2009, the then local government minister M. K. Stalin took over as deputy chief minister due to ill health. M. K. Stalin, who took over as the Deputy Prime Minister on May 29, 2009, became DMK in May 2011. He was in charge till the end of the reign.
O. Panneerselvam took charge as the second Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. According to this, on 21st August 2017, O. Panneerselvam took charge as the Deputy Chief Minister in the cabinet led by the then Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami (ADMK).
In this case, Udayanidhi Stalin, who is the Minister of Youth Welfare and Sports Development Department in the cabinet led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, is going to take charge as the third Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
