During the financial year 2020-21, Rs. 27,135 crore was provided for various development projects in Tamil Nadu. In the current financial year, Rs. 40,000 crore is to be provided, he said.
Hansraj Verma, President and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Industrial Investment Corporation (TIC), said there was a need to create more jobs at present. New jobs can only be created if all parties work together.

NABARD is also implementing various schemes to improve rural infrastructure facilities. In particular, NABARD has been assisting in various sectors including farmers’ advancement, increase in bank credit and strengthening of rural infrastructure, he said.
At the event, awards were presented to the best contributing banks. For Integrated Development, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Bank of India and NABARD BANK in the presence of Imran Amin Siddiqui, Executive Director, Bank of India. A handbook on seaweed cultivation prepared by NABARD BANK has been published.
Officials from various banks, including Suman Ray, General Manager, Reserve Bank of India, Chennai, and Bhuvan Chandra Sharma, General Manager, Indian Overseas Bank, were present.
