The Tamil Nadu Governor’s House informed that the National Anthem was insulted in the Tamil Nadu Assembly today.
In the report issued by the Governor’s House in this regard,
India’s Constitution and National Anthem were once again insulted in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly today. Respecting the National Anthem is the first fundamental duty enshrined in our Constitution.
It is sung at the beginning and end of the governor’s speech in all assemblies. Today when the Governor comes to the assembly only Tamil Thai greetings are sung.
The Governor respectfully reminded the Assembly of its constitutional duty and fervently appealed to the Chairman, Hon’ble Chief Minister and Hon’ble Speaker of the Legislative Assembly to sing the National Anthem.
But they categorically refused. This is a matter of great concern. It is reported that the governor walked out of the assembly in great pain as he should not be complicit in acts of flagrant insult to the Constitution and the national anthem.
