Choosing ‘Neet’ brings more social justice and opportunities. But the BJP, along with statistics, has said that the Dravidian parties are playing for political gain.
The ‘Neet’ entrance test for medical courses has been in operation in Tamil Nadu since 2017. In Tamil Nadu, various parties, including the DMK and AIADMK, are opposing the ‘Neet’ option. The Congress and the Communist Party have given support in the states where they rule and are protesting only in Tamil Nadu.
” In order to understand the NEET exam properly, it is necessary to know the places in Tamil Nadu Medical Colleges, the basic details of placement and the number of beneficiaries of the NEET exam. “With these, we can know the field changes that NEET has brought about,” said Tamil Nadu BJP state vice-president and professor Kanakasabapathy.
Kanakasabapathy said: From the sources of medical admissions for the year 2020 published by the Government of Tamil Nadu, the total number of medical places in the state is 3,650. All India Quota and Employees Government Insurance Company and IRDT, seats allotted to heirs, 619. Special seats for Tamil Nadu students, 3,031. Allocation for government school students (7.5 per cent) 227 seats and general allotment seats, 2,804.
The Government of Tamil Nadu has introduced internal quota for students studying in government schools by 2020. Thus, the government reservation (in percentage) is for general category-31, backward class-27, backward class-Muslims-3, most backward category-20, list class-17, list class Arundhatiyar-3, hill people-1 per cent seats.
The ratio of seats available is General category-0, backward class-34.4, backward class Muslim-5.3, most backward class-35.2, list class-20.7, list class Arundhatiyar-3.5, hill people-one per cent. Students belonging to the backward and Scheduled Castes of the community have reaped the full benefits through the reservation made by the State Government for government school students.
For any of the general students, the seats did not go. Students from backward, very backward, enrolled classes are increasingly enrolled in medical courses. Thus, after the introduction of ‘Neet’, the argument that social justice has been affected is completely wrong. Tamil Nadu students have been ranked eighth for the first time in All India. Various good things like this are going on.
But without telling the people about the social justice and equal opportunities that come with the ‘Neet’ election, the Dravidian parties and organizations here are playing tricks. Putting these aside, we neet to think and act on what is in the best interest of Tamil Nadu students with the ‘Neet’ exam, he said.
Increase in Tamil Nadu pass!
* The practice of making medical admissions with a plus 2 score continued until 2016. Of that, in total, only 213 students graduated from the state throughout that period. That is, the annual average number of students enrolled in medical school is 19. That’s 0.7 percent of the total number of medical students.
* In the past, students were not taught the Plus 2 subjects in full, only the specific areas were memorized by the ‘Blue Print’ and the marks were obtained. But, after the NEED exam came, our students started getting ready for it. The government also provides training.
* After the ‘Need’ exam, a large number of Tamil Nadu students take and pass the exam every year. Nationally successful students in the 2020 exam, 56.44 percent. However, the percentage of Tamil Nadu, 57.44. Compared to last year, 2019, the pass percentage of Tamil Nadu students in one year has increased by nine percent.
