The advisory said, “An atmospheric upper circulation is prevailing over South India. Hence, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puduvai and Karaikal today. Hilly areas of Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli districts.” , Nilgiris and Kanyakumari districts received heavy rainfall at a couple of places.

As far as temperature is concerned, from today till 13th, the maximum temperature may gradually increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius over Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal.

Cyclonic winds with a speed of 35 to 45 km per hour and an intermittent speed of 55 km per hour are likely to occur in the Arabian Sea areas from today till the 13th over the coastal areas of Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Fishermen are advised not to visit these areas on the above mentioned days,” it said.
