Puducherry Kamaraj Mani Mandapam will be opened soon, Chief Minister Rangasamy said.
The Kamaraj Mani Mandapam is being constructed on the East Coast Road in Pondicherry Laspet. The foundation stone was laid in 2007 when N. Rangasamy was the Chief Minister and the construction work of Kamaraj Mani Mandapam started. However, the project was delayed due to lack of funds. With 50 percent of the work completed, construction work resumed under the subsequent Congress regime.
The Mani Mandapam, spread over an area of 3.75 acres in Pondicherry, is under construction at a cost of Rs 30 crore with facilities including a museum, IAS and IPS training centers.
After 12 years, with 90 percent of the work now completed, the mansion remains unopened.
Following this, my first come back. Rangasamy on Thursday personally inspected the construction work of Kamaraj Manimandapa.
The person who went and inspected it with the authorities has assured that the works will be completed soon and action will be taken to open it on the coming Kamaraj’s birthday.
