Chennai University Registrar (Responsible) N. Mathivanan said in a press release:
The University of Chennai has been implementing a special program called the Chennai University Free Education Scheme since 2010 to enable poor students to enroll in undergraduate courses for free.
Applications are invited to join affiliated colleges (government aided colleges and self-funded colleges) in the current academic year (2021-2022) under this scheme. Applicant must have passed Plus 2 this year. Family annual income should be within Rs 3 lakh.
Priority will be given to economically backward students, destitute students and first generation students coming for graduate studies in the family.
The application form for the free education scheme and the certificates mentioned in it should be uploaded on the University website (www.unom.ac.in) within 2 days from the date of publication of the Plus 2 results. Application and other details can be viewed on the University website from 28th (today).
