Let’s see about the path taken by L. Murugan from Tamil Nadu who is in the Union Cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, the NDA formed a coalition government by winning 292 constituencies. Despite not getting an absolute majority, the BJP has been in power with the support of the Telugu Desam Party and the United Janata Dal. In this situation, Narendra Modi took charge as the Prime Minister for the 3rd time in the program held at the President’s House.
The central cabinet has also taken responsibility with him. L. Murugan from Tamil Nadu has again been included in the central cabinet. L. Murugan was given the post of Chief Minister during the last regime. Last April, L. Murugan was selected as a member of the states, and he was fielded as a candidate in the Nilgiri Lok Sabha constituency.
Despite losing to A. Raza, L. Murugan has been given a chance in the central cabinet again. L. Murugan was born in 1977 in Konur, Namakkal district. L. Murugan completed his Law from Ambedkar College of Law, Chennai and then completed his Masters in Law from the University of Chennai. After that he worked as an advocate in Madras High Court.
Similarly, L. Murugan was also working with the RSS movement. Apart from that he was the National General Secretary of BJP’s National Scheduled Castes wing. He then contested the 2011 assembly elections from Rasipuram constituency in his home district. While AIADMK candidate Dhanapal won that election, L. Murugan got only 1,730 votes.
After that, L. Murugan, who showed seriousness in political work, was suddenly appointed as the president after Tamilisai Chelandararajan, who was the state president of Tamil Nadu BJP. L. Murugan is the 2nd Dalit leader appointed as Tamil Nadu BJP president. Before him, he served as the chairman of Krupanidi in 2000.
After that, as the state BJP leader, he took the party among the people calmly rather than aggressively. While its Kanthashashti issue created controversy in Tamil Nadu politics, suddenly he conducted Vel Yatra across Tamil Nadu and made people look back. It should also be noted that he did not highlight himself in that yatra but highlighted the BJP.
After that, he formed an alliance with the AIADMK in the 2021 assembly elections and made the BJP contest in 20 constituencies. With BJP getting 4 MLAs, BJP LLAs got a foothold in the Tamil Nadu Assembly after a long time. After this, L. Murugan, who brought BJP MLAs and met the Prime Minister, later became the Union Minister of State with his contacts in Delhi.
L. Murugan, who served as Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, has now returned to the Union Cabinet. L. Murugan is the only person representing Tamil Nadu who has been included in the Union Cabinet. Many people are congratulating him on his inauguration as Union Minister.
