The brutal murder of an elderly couple in Tiruppur has drawn strong condemnation from AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami.
In a post on the social media platform X, he recalled a similar incident that took place in Palladam, where a family member was hacked to death. In that case, the deceased person’s wife had directly questioned a DMK minister, expressing her outrage over the government’s failure to ensure safety.
Criticizing the DMK government, Palaniswami stated that if proper action had been taken during the Palladam incident, this horrific crime could have been prevented. He accused the ruling party of attempting to dismiss murders across Tamil Nadu as isolated incidents instead of addressing them seriously.
Taking a sharp dig at Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, he remarked that merely proclaiming oneself as an authoritative leader is not enough—true leadership is validated through public trust. He further insisted that the state government must take strict action against those responsible for the murder of the elderly farmer couple.
