Numbering of 296 trains running on Southern Railway will be carried out with old numbering from July 1.
It was announced by the Railways that all MEMU, TEMU and passenger special trains will stop at all railway stations from last February and the old fare charged before Corona control will be charged.
In this case, it has been informed that the numbers for these unreserved special trains are to be changed to numbers for regular passenger trains. This has been informed through a circular from Southern Railway Headquarters to all Divisional General Managers.

Change of carriage numbers
After the spread of Corona, all passenger trains have been converted into unscheduled special trains. The numbers of these trains were also changed to start at zero. In this case, the Railway Board has ordered to change the numbers of all non-reserved trains running on the Southern Railway and announce the old numbers starting with 5, 6 and 7 again.
Numbering of 288 passenger trains and 8 mountain trains running on Southern Railway will be carried out with old numbers from July 1.
Accordingly, the passenger train running between Chennai Beach – Thiruvannamalai will be operated with the number (66033) instead of the coach number 06033 and the passenger train running between Chennai Egmore – Puducherry with the number (66051) instead of the number (06025). Similarly, the numbers of 288 passenger trains and 8 mountain trains, totaling 296 trains are to be renumbered.
