In the Lok Sabha elections held in Tamil Nadu, the BJP has come second in 81 assembly-wise votes.
The DMK alliance has won all 39 constituencies in the Lok Sabha elections held in Tamil Nadu. Although the BJP could not win even a single seat in this Lok Sabha election, it surprisingly finished second in 9 of the 23 contested seats. Through this, BJP’s vote percentage in Tamil Nadu has increased to 11.24.
At this stage, the details of the votes recorded by the assembly have been released. Accordingly, the DMK alliance has taken the top position in 221 assembly constituencies. Likewise, AIADMK has won 8 assembly constituencies, BMC has won 2 assembly constituencies and DMDK candidates have won first place in 2 constituencies. But it has come to light that BJP did not win even one seat.
However, the BJP and its alliance candidates have finished second in many assembly constituencies. In almost 81 constituencies, the BJP has advanced to the 2nd position, leaving behind the AIADMK. In Chennai alone, the BJP has come second in 13 assembly constituencies and in Coimbatore, it has also come second in notable constituencies.
Through this, the BJP has come to the second position behind the AIADMK in one-third of the 234 assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu. It is seen that the growth of BJP has increased especially in South Tamil Nadu. In this Lok Sabha election alone, BJP candidates have secured around 49 lakh votes.
This has caused shock among AIADMK members. In the context where the politics of Tamil Nadu has been a contest between DMK and AIADMK, BJP has emerged as the 3rd largest party, the parties are saying. If the BJP’s growth continues, it is seen as a challenge to the AIADMK in the next assembly elections.
