BJP’s second position in the 13 assembly constituencies in Chennai in the Lok Sabha elections has caused shock among AIADMK members.
The DMK alliance has won all 39 constituencies in the Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu. Similarly, although AIADMK and BJP could not win even a single constituency, it is seen that the vote percentage has increased in this election as compared to the last election.
In this Lok Sabha election, BJP contested in 23 constituencies and secured a total of 49,18,303 votes. Out of these 23 constituencies it got 2nd position in 9 constituencies, 3rd position in 13 constituencies and 4th position in one constituency. Through this BJP’s vote percentage is 11.24. In each of these constituencies, BJP’s assembly constituency-wise votes have been revealed.
In Chennai alone, AIADMK has advanced to the second position in 13 constituencies including Kolathur, the home constituency of Chief Minister M.K.Stalin. Both the DMK and the AIADMK have a strong presence in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. As a result, both the parties will not give up the top two seats so easily.
But this time BJP has changed. BJP has secured 2nd position in all the 6 assembly constituencies of Virugambakkam, Saidappettai, Thiagaraya Nagar, Mylapore, Velachery and Cholinganallur under South Chennai constituency. Apart from that, the difference between DMK and BJP in Thiagaraya Nagar is only 5 thousand votes.
Likewise, DMDK contested on behalf of AIADMK in the Chennai Lok Sabha constituency. BJP has secured 2nd place in Villivakkam, Egmore, Harpuram, Chepakkam, Tiruvallikeni, Ayaar Lantum and Anna Nagar constituencies. The party is discussing that the AIADMK has lost its stronghold in the capital due to this.
