The police arrested a man who pretended to be a police officer and married 5 women and lived a luxurious life.
Satyajit Samal hails from Jajpur district of Odisha. The 34-year-old married 5 women at once, pretending to be a police officer. He has been living a luxurious life by taking lakhs of money from them.
The two women, who were duped by Samal, filed separate complaints at the police station. Based on this complaint, the police conducted an investigation and arrested Samal. In particular, the police used a female officer to lay a trap to arrest Samal. When Samal came to meet the female officer regarding her marriage, the police arrested him.
Shocking information was revealed in the police interrogation of the arrested Samal. In other words, Samal has been targeting young widows and divorcees through matrimonial sites, claiming to be a police officer and meeting them.
Later, he allegedly forced them to get married and asked for a car and money. The victim of Samal first took a personal loan from the bank and bought a car worth Rs 8.15 lakh. He also gave Rs. 36 lakhs to start a business.
Another woman took a loan from the bank and gave Rs 8.60 lakh and a motorcycle to Samal. With this money, Samal has been living a luxurious life. Then, when I asked for the money back, he threatened me with a gun.
After probing his mobile phone, the police found that he was chatting with 49 other women on matrimonial sites.
Police seized a car, motorcycle, Rs 2.10 lakh cash, pistol, ammunition and two marriage contract certificates from him. The police also froze Samal’s three bank accounts. He is being interrogated.
