As the first meeting of the new Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Modi was held in Delhi, some important decisions were taken.
The BJP, which emerged as the single largest party in the Lok Sabha elections, formed the government with the support of the NDA allies. Prime Minister Modi was sworn in as Prime Minister for the third time yesterday.
Other ministers were sworn in yesterday along with him. 30 Cabinet Ministers, 5 Ministers of State with special responsibility, 36 Ministers of State took oath yesterday along with the Prime Minister.
Cabinet meeting: Meanwhile, the first cabinet meeting of the NDA coalition government was held today. The first cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Narendra Modi at the Prime Minister’s residence in Delhi. After this meeting, it is expected that the announcement about which portfolio will be given to which minister.
Prime Minister’s House Building Plan: Apart from this, some other important issues are also discussed in this. In particular, the Cabinet has approved plans to build 3 crore houses for the rural and urban poor under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
The central government has been implementing Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana since 2015-16. Under this scheme, the central government is providing financial assistance to eligible rural and urban families to construct houses with basic facilities. Under this PMAY scheme, a total of 4.21 crore houses have been completed in the last 10 years.
Conclusion: It is to be noted that all the houses constructed under the PMAY scheme will also provide other toilets, LPG connection, electricity connection, water pipe connection by the Central and State Governments. This is one of the important projects of the Modi government. The important decision regarding this has been taken in today’s cabinet meeting.
Earlier this morning, Prime Minister Modi signed an order to disburse around ₹ 20,000 crore to around 9.3 crore farmers.
