Nitish Kumar is said to be stipulating that the Agniveer scheme should be discussed to give an early check to the BJP.
In the environment where the BJP did not get a majority in the Lok Sabha elections, now the support of the coalition parties is definitely needed to form the government.
Need support: BJP definitely needs the support of Telugu Desam, which has 16 seats, and Nitish Kumar’s parties, which have 12 seats. As a result, it has been reported that the two parties are imposing some conditions.
Meanwhile, voices have started coming from Nitishkumar’s party that they should think about canceling the Agniveer scheme in order to put pressure on the Modi government at the very beginning.
Agniveer: The JDU believes that the Agniveer scheme influenced the results of the Lok Sabha elections. Under this Agniveer scheme, youth will serve in the defense forces for four years. After that, only 25% of Agni players will continue there. The rest will be released.
While this plan was first implemented in 2022, since then it had sparked strong opposition among the army preparers. Especially from some states including Bihar, more and more people go to the army. It is said that there is strong opposition there. It is noteworthy that the Congress party had also promised to cancel the Agniveer scheme if it came to power.
Objection: Many parties within the NDA coalition are largely opposed to the plan. Now that there is a situation where the support of JDU is important to form the BJP government, the JDU side said that they should consider canceling the Agniveer project as a check to the BJP from the beginning.
Deleted: JD(U) spokesperson KC Tyagi said, “The Agniveer scheme has not been well received since it was introduced. People are criticizing it. We have seen its impact in the elections too. So we need to make changes in this army recruitment.
A section of people are upset by the Agniveer project. Public is questioning many flaws in it.. We wish to discuss those flaws in detail and remove them.. Nitish Kumar had already written to Law Commission Chairman regarding General Civil Code. We are not against this… but we want to consult with all sides,” he said.
