The central government has allocated approximately ₹65 crore for constructing flyovers in three key districts of Tamil Nadu to improve transportation infrastructure. These districts include Tiruvallur, Tiruvannamalai, and Villupuram. The announcement was made by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, on the X platform (formerly Twitter).
Details of the Allocation:
Tiruvallur District:
- Tiruttani – Pallipattu Road
- Tirupasur – Kondacheri Road
- A total of ₹22.57 crore has been allocated for constructing flyovers on these routes.
Tiruvannamalai District:
- Vadamadimangalam – Kommanandal Road
- Ammapalayam – Pudupalayam Road
- Veeralur – Chengam Road
- These three key routes have been allocated ₹30.59 crore for the development of flyovers.
Villupuram District:
- Olakkur Railway Feeder Road
- The existing level crossing will be replaced with a flyover, for which ₹12.14 crore has been allocated.
