The Central Home Ministry has announced that President’s Rule has been revoked in Jammu and Kashmir.
President’s rule came into effect in Jammu and Kashmir from 31 October 2019. The National Conference won a landslide victory in the recent Assembly elections there. The party won 42 seats, BJP 29 seats and Congress 6 seats.
After this, Omar Abdullah met the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and sought permission to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir. The swearing-in ceremony will be held soon. Due to this, the effective President’s Rule has been withdrawn in Jammu and Kashmir.
