BJP state president Annamalai has appealed to the Ministry of External Affairs to release the Tamil Nadu fishermen arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy and order the Indian Coast Guard to find the missing fisherman.
In his letter to Union Minister of External Affairs Jaishankar in this regard, he mentioned that while 359 fishing vessels were fishing near Nedundivu yesterday, the boat of the Sri Lankan Navy collided with the fishing vessel.
Annamalai said that out of the 4 fishermen on board during this incident, one fisherman unfortunately died, one fisherman went missing and two fishermen were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy.
He also said that the recent arrest of Tamil Nadu fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy is very disturbing. In addition to ordering the Indian Coast Guard to immediately locate the missing Tamil Nadu fisherman,
Annamalai has also requested the Ministry of External Affairs to intervene for the early release of the arrested fishermen.
