During a parliamentary session in the Rajya Sabha, responding to a question raised by MP R. This initiative will be implemented in collaboration with various agencies, including the National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) and other stakeholders.
These logistics parks will be equipped with advanced facilities to ensure efficient cargo transportation and storage. Key features include:
✅ Large warehouses for bulk storage
✅ Railway connectivity for seamless goods transfer
✅ Container depots for cargo handling
✅ Dedicated truck parking zones
✅ Fuel stations and EV charging stations
✅ Accommodation and rest areas for truck drivers and workers
✅ Food courts and restaurants
✅ Direct business links to industrial hubs
✅ Skill development centers for workforce training
The total investment for the Chennai logistics park amounts to ₹641.92 crore, with financial contributions from multiple organizations:
✔️ National Highways Logistics Management Ltd. (NHLML): 40.18%
✔️ Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL): 26%
