The central government has issued an order to remove the ban that has been in place for the past 58 years and allow government employees to participate in the activities of the RSS organization.
The Center has lifted the ban on government employees joining the RSS. The Center has lifted a 58-year-old ban on central employees participating in Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh programmes.
Generally it is a government rule that civil servants should not be members of any political party. Under this rule, it was a government rule that central government employees should not be members of RSS or Hindutva movement.
During the Indira Gandhi regime in 1966, government employees were banned from participating in the activities of the RSS. Now it has been announced that central employees can participate in RSS programs.
The order was issued by the Ministry of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Civil Grievances and Pensions, Government of India.
