NASA has made an official announcement about when Sunita Williams will return to Earth.
American Indian-origin astronaut Sunitha Williams and another astronaut, Butch Wilmore, flew to the International Space Station on June 5 aboard the Starliner spacecraft. They are doing research there.
Both of them had planned to return to Earth in 8 days after completing the research. However, due to a technical glitch in the Starliner spacecraft, the duo had trouble returning to Earth. Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore have been stuck in the International Space Station for 80 days and the Starliner is about to return to Earth without them.
In this case, NASA has announced that both Sunita and Butch, who are stuck in the space center, will return to Earth in February next year. The two who went to space for 8 days of research have now stayed in space for 8 months.
Both Sunita and Butch, who went into space aboard Boeing’s Starliner, will return to Earth in February next year aboard Elon Musk’s SpaceX-owned Crew Dragon, according to NASA.
