Hezbollah in Lebanon sided with Hamas in the Gaza war. They intensified the attack on Israel. In response, Israel continues to attack Lebanon. The attack has intensified over the past few days.
Israel’s military bombarded southern Lebanon on Monday in its biggest offensive since 2006. In particular, this attack is being carried out after Israel’s intelligence department discovered that the Hizbullah organization has hidden weapons in various areas including Hermal, Byblos, and Baalbek in Lebanon.
More than 600 people have been killed in recent airstrikes in Lebanon. This has led to a full-scale war between Lebanon and Israel. Israeli forces are also preparing for a ground attack on Lebanon. War tensions have also increased in the region.
In this case, the United States, France and their allies have called for an immediate 21-day ceasefire on the Lebanon-Israel border. A joint statement was issued calling for a ceasefire and negotiations. It said the latest attacks were intolerable and posed an unacceptable risk.
The statement also urged all sides, including the governments of Israel and Lebanon, to immediately agree to a temporary ceasefire.
But Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office has said that the cease-fire presented by the United States and France is only a proposal. The Prime Minister also did not respond to this proposal.
Earlier, in 2006, a UN resolution ended the war between Israel and an Iranian-backed militant group. It is noteworthy that the representatives of Israel and Lebanon reiterated their support for the resolution.
