Meanwhile, Ismail Haniyeh (age 62), the leader of the Hamas armed group, who masterminded the terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, was killed in Iran on the 31st. Ismail Haniyeh, who was participating in the inauguration ceremony of the President of Iran, was killed in a missile attack while staying at a guest house in Tehran. Iran has accused Israel of carrying out the attack.
In this case, after the death of Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas armed group has announced a new leader. Accordingly, Yahya Sinwar has been announced as the new head of the Hamas armed group. Yahya Sinwar has been appointed as the head of the entire Hamas organization after serving only as the head of the Gaza Strip wing of the Hamas armed group.
It is noteworthy that Yahya Shinwar was a key figure in the Hamas armed group that planned the October 7 attack on Israel.
