The Central Cabinet has approved the construction of a semiconductor plant in Gujarat at a cost of Rs 3,300 crore.
Chips required for electrical appliances, machines and vehicles are made using semiconductors made with silicon as raw material. These chips are used in everyday communication devices such as cell phones, laptops, etc., which run on this chip technology.
As technology is developing day by day, the demand for semiconductors is also increasing. Due to this, various countries are showing initiative in the production of semiconductors. In that way, the work of setting up semiconductor plants in India is also going on rapidly.
The Central Cabinet approved the construction of a semiconductor plant in Gujarat’s Sanand Nagar at an estimated cost of Rs 3,300 crore.
In the Central Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Modi, Bengaluru-headquartered company Kenes has been approved to set up a semiconductor plant in Gujarat.
