The Prime Minister of Nepal inaugurated the final tunnel work of the Arun-3 tunnel power project in Nepal.
The Prime Minister of Nepal, Pushpagamal Dahal Prasanda, has inaugurated the work of a tunnel carrying 900 MW of electricity in the Arun-3 tunnel power project in Sangkwa Saba district of Nepal.
The tunnel is being constructed by SJVN subsidiary Arun-3, a private power development company.
The project aims to expand regional energy security and promote economic development by generating electricity in the Arun River basin.
Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Mr. Shakti Bahadur Basnet, Ambassador of India to Nepal Mr. Naveen Srivatsava, President and Managing Director of SJVN Sushil Sharma and others were present.
Addressing the participants on the occasion, the Prime Minister of Nepal expressed his appreciation for the timely completion of the project. He said the project aimed at providing clean energy would help in sustainable development of the region.
