Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said on Monday that 311 members of the Lok Sabha had been vaccinated in two installments.
He further said at a press conference in Delhi:
“311 members of the Lok Sabha have been vaccinated in two installments. For some reason, 23 have not even been vaccinated in the first installment. However, arrangements have been made for a 24-hour test on the Parliament premises.
Arrangements will be made for members to take breaks due to corona infection. Following corona instructions is the biggest challenge in running them without any problems.
Work is ongoing at various stages to ensure that all Members of Parliament are vaccinated. More than 500 Lok Sabha members have paid at least the first installment of the vaccine. All parliamentary staff will be vaccinated with them. “
The parliamentary monsoon session begins on July 19 and ends on August 13.
