The Tamil Nadu BJP has questioned why female leaders of the INDIA alliance have remained silent on the Kolkata female doctor’s murder case.
In a post released on X (formerly Twitter), the BJP stated:
“To the female leaders of the INDIA alliance, such as Kanimozhi, Jothimani, and Tamilachi Thangapandian, why are you still silent on the brutal rape and murder of a female doctor at a government hospital in West Bengal, which is governed by a female Chief Minister from your INDIA alliance?
Why have the female champions of Dravidian politics remained silent while West Bengal is in turmoil over the fight for justice for this woman? Is this part of your INDIA alliance’s agreement? The autopsy report of the deceased woman revealed that her body was covered in injuries and she was brutally raped and murdered. Haven’t you heard this news?
When the Kolkata police tried to hastily close the case by calling it a suicide, when will you voice your opposition? Why have you not even given minor criticism against the West Bengal government medical college principal who blamed the victim with questions like, ‘Why did she go alone at night to the seminar hall?’
Is the call for ‘social justice for women’ only meant for parliament, or have you all discarded your conscience and become silent because it’s a state ruled by your alliance party?
When will you raise your voice against the actions of your alliance party’s leaders, who are trying to destroy evidence by starting sudden construction at the crime scene and transferring the principal of the government medical college to another institution to cover up this murder?
Do you not feel troubled by the possibility that politicians and government officials might be involved in this crime? The heavy silence you are maintaining to protect your alliance’s reputation today may become a weapon that destroys the lives of many women tomorrow. This is what the post says.”
