An agreement has been signed today to set up a factory in Chengalpattu district of Tamil Nadu at a cost of Rs.400 crores to provide employment to 500 people.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin made an official visit to the United States from Chennai on the 27th as a part of an effort to encourage companies from around the world to make business investments in Tamil Nadu.
He reached San Francisco, USA and participated in an investor conference. Following this, MoUs were signed with various companies.
According to this, an MoU was signed between Nokia and the Tamil Nadu government to set up a new research and development center with the world’s largest static network testing facility at Sirucherry Chipgat with an investment of Rs 450 crores, employing 100 people.
Similarly, an MoU was signed between PayPal and the Government of Tamil Nadu to set up an Advanced Development Center for Artificial Intelligence to provide employment to 1,000 people.
Subsequently, an MoU was signed between Microchip and the Tamil Nadu government to set up a Research and Development Center in Semiconductor Technology in Chennai with an investment of Rs 250 crores to provide employment to 1,500 people.
In this way, an MoU has been signed for an investment of Rs. 900 crores in a single day to provide employment to 4,100 people in Tamil Nadu.
The event was attended by Tamil Nadu Industries Minister T.R.P.Raja, Industry, Investment Promotion and Trade Secretary Arun Roy, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Vishnu and senior government officials.
In this case, Prime Minister M.K.Stalin, who is on a trip to America, visited the offices of Apple, Google and Microsoft in person yesterday. He also shared photos of this on social media.
Following this, the Tamil Nadu government yesterday entered into an MoU with the help of Google in the United States with the goal of imparting skills to 20 lakh students in artificial intelligence.
