In view of the Formula 4 car race in Chennai, traffic has been changed on major roads.
The Formula 4 car race will be held in Chennai from tomorrow to September 1. In this regard, traffic changes have been made on the main roads around the island, according to the Metropolitan Chennai Traffic Police Department.
Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) India’s first on-street night Formula 4 racing event “Chennai Formula Racing Circuit” will be held from tomorrow to September 1 around Chennai Island Stadium. The event will be held from today to September 1 from 12 noon to 10 pm and the following traffic changes have been arranged.
Vehicles coming from South: Vehicles heading towards War Memorial on Kamaraj Road may be diverted near Laborer Statue and reach via Walaja Road, Annasalai, Periyar Statue, Central Light Point (Central Railway Station), EVR Road.
Vehicles heading towards Wallaja Point on Mount Road will be diverted towards Central Light Point on Pallavan Road.
Sivanandasalai and Flag Tree Road will be completely closed.
Vehicles coming from North: > There is no traffic diversion for vehicles coming from Kamaraj Road towards Santhom.
Vehicles going towards Anna statue from Central Light can proceed as usual till Pallavan road junction. One lane from Pallavanchal junction to Periyar statue has been converted into a temporary two lane.
Vehicles are not allowed from Muthuswamy Junction to Annasalai and Kodi Marachala. Instead, they can reach their destination via Pallavan Road, EVR Road, Central Railway Station, Periyamedu Gandhi Irvin.
Heavy goods vehicles and light goods vehicles: Main roads around the island, Walaja road, Annasalai, Kamaraj road, EVR. Road, R.A. It said that heavy vehicles and light commercial vehicles are temporarily prohibited from 12 noon to 10 pm at Munram, Muthusamy Point and Parris Corner.
