The BJP-CMA alliance has laid a strong foundation for a third non-DMK alliance in Tamil Nadu after losing the Lok Sabha elections and has enough vote bank to win more constituencies in the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections, say the BJP.
Although the BJP alliance could not win a single constituency in Tamil Nadu in the recent Lok Sabha elections, it has acquired a good vote bank. In many constituencies, BJP, BMC, AAMUK and OPS candidates have secured good votes and come second.
In North Tamil Nadu, which has around 21 constituencies, BAMAK, a party with relatively good vote bank, contested only in 9 constituencies. Elsewhere in North Tamil Nadu, the BJP and its smaller allies contested on the lotus symbol.
Tamil State Congress contested in Sriperumbudur and Erode. Out of which, Vellore-1,40,000
Chidambaram- 1,30,000, Krishnagiri 1,20,000 Tiruvannamalai 1,25,000, Tiruvallur-1,15,000, South Chennai-1,00,000, Namakkal-65,000, Tirupur-70,000, Nagai-60,000, North Chennai-45,000, Perambalur-40,000,
Central Chennai- 30,000, Thanjavur-20,000, other constituencies- 50,000 in total 11,10,000 lakh votes have gone to BJP, say the party leaders.
Out of the 4880000 votes bought by the BJP, around 11.1 lakh votes were from the BAM. Also in Vellore and Perambalur constituencies BJP got 250000 votes on personal influence of AC Shanmugam and Parivendar. Similarly, the influence of Dhinakaran and OPS, John Pandian, Devanathan Yadav etc. in the southern districts has been revealed by the results of the constituencies contested by them.
At the rate of 1 lakh votes per constituency, the BJP got about 8 lakh votes through them in constituencies like Sivagangai, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Thanjavur. BJP also got 1 lakh votes from AIADMK members in OPS in Kongu region.
The candidates who contested in the BJP openly say that more than half of the votes that the BJP has got have gone to the BJP from the alliance parties. BJP alone has grown to the extent of getting 6% i.e. 26 lakh votes. At the same time, even though BMC contested in 10 constituencies and got 19 lakh votes, out of which the votes of alliance parties are only around 3 lakh. Because the party never contested in seats where other coalition parties were strong.
Pamaka, which gave up to 11 lakh votes to BJP, has also given about 2 lakh votes to Tamaka’s bicycle symbol in Sriperumbudur and Erode constituencies. Even though the alliance was formed after various controversies, the BJP people are talking on social media that this alliance is an alliance that has no hesitation in going to the alliance parties without any hesitation.
